Foal Education

Start to develop positive habits and lay groundwork for a lifetime of trust and cooperation with gentle and foal education exercises, focusing on essential handling skills- leading, understanding pressure, hoof handling, separation anxiety and confidence building.

Young Horse Education

Guide your young horse through their formative years and learn about many useful skills, which willl install confidence and understanding for future endeavors, like riding. I teach meaning of cues and aids from the ground that can later easily be transaltable to riding.

Introduce your horse to sensation of saddle and rider with confidence using progressive training methods, ensuring a positive experience for both horse and rider.

Groundwork

Build a strong foundation of clear communication through engaging groundwork exercises that are fun for both you and your horse. Learn to effectively use your body language, handle tools, and manage your energy to communicate with your horse. Refine your horsemanship with subtle exercises and lateral movements that promote better self-carriage and posture, following the principles of Classical Art of Dressage.

Foundational Riding

Start your horse right with a strong, reliable base. Lay a solid foundation for your horse’s riding career. I emphasize the importance of basic skills, ensuring your horse learns essential commands and proper posture. By focusing on practice of these fundamentals, we ensure a confident, balanced, and cooperative riding experience that will benefit all future training.

Lunging

Enhance your horse’s training with correct lunging. Proper lunging is crucial for developing your horse’s balance, strength, and responsiveness. I focus on teaching to maintain gait, transition smoothly, and move biomechanically correctly in a circle. That promotes better posture and self-carriage without the use of gadgets- such as side reins.

Problem behaviours

Address and transform your horse’s problem behaviors with my specialised training approach. Whether your horse is dealing with spookiness, pushiness, biting, or aggression, I use empathetic and yet simple techniques to understand and correct these issues. By focusing on clear communication and building trust, I help your horse develop positive behaviors and a more cooperative attitude. Overcome challenges and foster a stronger relationship with your horse through understanding problem behaviours and their causes.( Always consult a vet to ensure no physical pain is present)

Preparations for farrier or vetreinary Intervention

Prepare your horse for a smooth and positive experience with farriers or veterinarian. I focus on desensitization techniques to help your horse feel comfortable with hoof care and medical procedures. By familiarising our horses to these actions,we make essential interventions less stressful for both you and your horse.

Trailer Loading

Make trailer loading a stress free experience by rewarding the slightest try and completing preparatory exercises. I focus on introducing the trailer to the horse casually – ideally just as another task on our groundwork exercise list. I aim for every horse to calmly and willingly enter and exit the trailer, and eventually also stay longer periods in. I use both positive ad negative reinforcement and feel for nervous system state to ensure your horse feels safe and up to the challenge of entering trailer.

Through celebrating the little sucesses, and acknowledging the slightest try, we create attunement and connection. The best place to start developing this is on the ground.
